Unlinking objects from a document

Unlinking an object from a document removes the reference to the object so that the document will no longer appear on the Linked Documents page of the object in the maintenance management system.

To unlink an object from a document:

  1. Select the document to which the object is linked that you want to unlink.
  2. View the objects that are currently linked to the document as described in Viewing linked objects. Confirm that the object that you want to unlink is listed.
  3. Click Manage Links. The Manage Document Links dialog box appears.
  4. Select the objects that you want to unlink and click Remove Link. The object is removed from the list.

    Tip    Press and hold the Ctrl key while clicking to add or remove objects from your selection. Press and hold the Shift key while clicking to select consecutive objects.

OR

  1. Double-click the object that you want to unlink. The object is removed from the list.
  2. When you are finished unlinking objects, click Close.
